We’re in the throes of Winter, but Spring and Easter are barreling towards us at warp speed! Easter is extra early this year, just 52 days away (April 5), and Spring will arrive in just over a month (March 20). Which means this is exactly when medium to short-lead editors are locking in seasonal coverage.

So let’s talk about what editors are actively asking for, and how your lifestyle brand can fit into those stories right now.

TL;DR ~ What editors are actively asking for this spring

  • Travel-driven product stories and destination-led lifestyle guides

  • “Spring reset” coverage focused on color, wellness, and offline experiences

  • Phone-free, analog and IRL moments (events, workshops, collectability, community)

  • Utility-driven, eco-forward fashion and home stories

  • Easter coverage centered on sustainability, local events, and experiential kits

  • *Note: Paid subscribers will get pitch templates for each of these coverage buckets next week.

In the past week I’ve gotten requests for:

Travel Related Products and Destinations

Spring Travel is big on the minds of editors across the board. Lifestyle magazines, websites, blogs, and podcasts are always keen on Spring Break related stories the first quarter of the year - but 2026 has taken it up a notch.

The 2026 Travel Market has finally rebounded from the Pandemic, which means readers are researching places to go, considering travel outfits, stocking up on sundries, buying travel bags, and planning in-flight snacks.

2026 has consumers booking trips that are meaningful, flexible and comfortable. While the number of individual trips are down, the length of stay for each trip has expanded. Small towns and unique outdoorsy experiences are top destinations for most of us.

Devise free down time is one of the top travel trends. This includes destinations with limited Wi-Fi, Readaways, Decision Detox, and train trips. (I talked about analog up above, here’s just one example).

What to Pitch:

Travel related products of all sorts: travel sized beauty, travel kits, luggage and cute makeup bags, portable snacks, travel candles.

Travel guides featuring a favorite destination - pitch a guide of your hometown, or a favorite town that you’ve spent time in. List your favorite restaurants, walks, kayaking spots, unique shopping opportunities, annual events, or quirky attractions. This is particularly great if you own a retail store or studio in a town that is cute and off the beaten path.

Experiences you may have had as a traveler are also interesting and can relate back to your brand if done deftly. Did you go on a farm-to-table immersion trip as a way to research ingredients for your beauty or food brand? It’s a clever way to inform readers of research that has gone into the development of your products.

Ideas for making travel easier, such as inflight snack kits; ways to keep kids busy during long car trips; tips for staying organized.

Spring Reset

It’s been a particularly cold and punishing Winter for many of us. After a few years of warm temps and little snow, the shock of thick blankets of ice covering everything for weeks has many of us longing to see Snowdrops and Crocus poking their heads above ground.

We’ll be “springing forward” at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 8 and many of us will want to refresh our homes with bright colors, perk up our wardrobes with lighter layers, and upgrade our skincare and makeup colors to reflect the longer, brighter days.

Key Spring Trends for 2026

Experts are predicting a big “reset” in the fashion industry with a return to bright colors and prints that nod to the 1980’s; hybrid wardrobes (think a lot more leisure wear); an uptick in the housing marketing that should see prices stabilize; and a bigger trend towards calming and healing.

Fragrance trends for Spring are pivoting toward nature-inspired, botanical, and skin-enhancing scents that emphasize wellness, comfort, and, to a lesser extent, sophisticated, savory, and futuristic notes.

Color trends for fashion blend high-energy brights with calming, natural tones, signaling a shift away from pure “quiet luxury” towards more expressive, joyful, and, at times, contrasting, palettes. Key colors include electric lime green, vibrant fuchsia, cobalt blue, rich teal (Alexandrite), and candy apple red, grounded by neutrals like “Cloud Dancer” white, sage green, and cocoa powder.

Makeup trends for Spring 2026 embrace a blend of soft, monochromatic, earthy tones, alongside bold, futuristic pops of color and, deep, moody shades. Key trends include “cheeks-first” blush, metallic,/chrome eyeshadows, berry-stained lips, and a shift toward, soft-focus matte finishes. The, overall, aesthetic is described as, effortless, yet, intentional and, expressive.

In 2026, home decor color trends will blend moody, earth-inspired tones with nostalgic and vibrant accents, featuring Transformative Teal as a key color of the year to bring a cooling, regenerative, and, deep blue-green feel to spaces. Expect a return to nature with warm, muddy shades like terracottas, olives, deep browns, and mushroom neutrals, alongside bold accents of burgundy and bright red for a, more personal, and confident aesthetic.

What to Pitch:

Spring rollouts of brightly colored products in all categories that will lead directly to Easter. Pitch pastels, soft, brights, and fresh pinks.

Curated experiences that prioritize digital detoxing, collectible physical goods, and functional, "utility-driven" fashion are high on editor’s lists.

Key strategies include creating calming IRL moments that embrace "unseriousness" and spark joy. Pitch your products that offer both aesthetic appeal, collectibility and community connection.

The Spring Phone-Free Movement: Campaigns that promote wellness by encouraging customers to embrace boredom, rest, and connection through phone-free events and “digital detox” experiences at your store (or a retailer who carries your products location).

Collectibles as Social Currency: Pitch limited-edition products that consumers want to collect. These build brand affinity and, in some cases, secondary-market value. I would veer away from plasticky junk that is landfill fodder and focus on value.

Utility, Eco & Comfort Fashion: Pitch clothing that blends functionality with style, such as cargo jackets, durable fabrics, and earth tones, catering to a desire for durable yet fashionable wardrobes. Eco friendly fabrics, mending clinics, clothing swaps, and clothing buy-back programs are high on editorial lists.

Preppy & Polished Aesthetics: Editors are looking for 1990s-inspired preppy styles, specifically featuring double-breasted blazers, polo knits, and refined, natural makeup looks (e.g., brushed-up brows).

Nature-Inspired Wellness Partnerships: Pitch campaigns that feature eco-conscious, restorative travel or wellness retreats that connect users with nature, aligning with the trend for grounding rituals in the spring.

“Small Burst” Content: Editors are looking to utilize the perky Spring vibe for quick, effective content on their websites and social media. Suggest tips for short-burst cleaning, 10-minute fitness routines, or fast productive morning routines. Detail how you manage a packed schedule while also making time for reading, walking, and mindfulness.

Easter

Good Friday and Easter are both early this year thanks to an early Mardi Gras. In 2026, Good Friday will be on April 3, and Easter Sunday will be on April 5. So hop to it!

Easter 2026 trends focus on a blend of vibrant, joyful colors, sustainable, handcrafted, eggless decor, and rustic, nostalgic charm.

Standout colors featuring neon pink and green, with lots of glitter and texture are grabbing editor’s attention this year.

While there is always a place for classic pastel bunnies and eggs wreaths, Easter 2026 is opening the door to a modern version of personal expression interspersed with modern fairytale themes.

Key 2026 Easter Decor Trends

Colorful & Bold Decor: Bright, happy colors including neon are trending.

Nature-Inspired & Rustic: Modern farmhouse is in with rustic touches like carrot door hangers and natural garlands.

Eggless & Sustainable Alternatives: A move toward sustainable celebrating has many skipping wasteful dyed eggs and choosing other types of things to hunt for. Key trends include using reusable wooden/felt eggs, hosting digital, story-driven scavenger hunts and adopting eco-friendly "reverse" hunts or clue-based games that replace traditional hen's eggs.

Velvet & Delicate Accents: Velvet and sequin-adorned decorations to add whimsy to the otherwise traditionally conservative holiday.

Key 2026 Easter Fashion & Lifestyle Trends

Nostalgic Jewelry: Vintage-inspired brooches are making a comeback.

Sustainable Fashion: Increased interest in vintage items. Think vintage Lilly Pulitzer.

Key 2026 Easter Color Palette

Bold Colors: Bright and neon.

Pastels: Gentle, soft shades.

Soft Earth Tones: Natural tones that create a calm and elegant, atmosphere.

What to Pitch

For Easter 2026, lifestyle brands should pitch media with a focus on sustainability, and community-driven experiences.

Key pitches for products include eco-friendly Easter, that include experiential, niche, or small-scale events.

Here’s a rundown of recent editorial requests:

“Plantable” Easter Decor: Editors are looking for brands that feature seed-embedded, biodegradable egg decorations or recycled-material baskets.

Zero-Waste Easter Hosting: Brands that offer curated kits for a sustainable, plant-based Easter brunch.

Conscious Gifting: Products that feature eco-conscious, ethical items as alternatives to plastic-heavy, mass-produced gifts.

Local Events: Community workshops such as DIY egg decorating or spring gardening that focus on bringing people together.

Reimagined Pastels: Products that introduce a modern softer, or more minimalist aesthetic for 2026.

Experiential “Gourmet” Kits: All-in-one kits for creating Easter themed foods such as artisanal hot cross buns, bunny bait, or drinks.

Key 2026 Media Angle: Emphasize that these initiatives are not just selling a product but are fostering deeper, authentic, long-term connections.
